2024 PECC Interim Sec Gen Karen 01The Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kaewkamol Karen Pitakdumrongkit as Executive Director of the PECC International Secretariat, effective 1 January 2026.

Dr. Pitakdumrongkit has been serving as the Interim Secretary General since February 2025, during which she has contributed actively to advancing PECC’s work in regional cooperation and policy dialogue. Her appointment follows the endorsement of the PECC Standing Committee.

Dr. Pitakdumrongkit’s title has been changed to Executive Director, but her responsibilities remain the same: she will oversee the International Secretariat’s operations, support the implementation of PECC programs, and facilitate collaboration among member committees and partners across the Asia-Pacific region.

Throughout 2025, Dr Pitakdumrongkit actively represented PECC at various Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings and related engagements. She attended APEC SOM I in Gyeongju, SOM II in Jeju, SOM III in Incheon, and the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Gyeongju, contributing to discussions that support greater policy coordination and regional collaboration. She also participated in the ISEAS–Singapore APEC Study Centre seminar on “APEC 2025: Challenges and Opportunities”, where she spoke on the findings of the PECC State of the Region Report 2024–2025.
