
On June 30, 2025, former CANCPEC Chair Donald. W Campbell was appointed to the Order of Canada, one of Canada’s highest honours which recognizes people across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to the country.
Ambassador Campbell is a highly respected advisor in the private and public sectors and currently serves as Senior Strategy Advisor at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada. His stellar diplomatic career includes service as deputy minister of both Foreign Affairs and International Trade, G8 summit sherpa, and senior negotiator with the United States. As a former ambassador to Korea and Japan, he continues to play a central role in Canada-Asia relations as a distinguished fellow to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada.
The PECC Community would like to extend our greatest congratulations to Ambassador Campbell who served as the Chair of the Canadian National Committee on Pacific Economic Cooperation (CANCPEC) since 2009 and concurrently International Co-Chair of PECC for three successive terms from 2012 to 2020. We thank him for his dedicated leadership of CANCPEC and PECC which has left a renowned impact on current and practical policy issues of the Asia Pacific region.
