The PECC General Meeting
The General Meeting serves as PECC’s flagship forum for driving strategic perspectives across the Pacific Community and evaluating the organization’s key activities.
Typically held on an annual basis, each meeting brings together delegates from PECC member committees along with external observers and interested stakeholders. The event is organized by the host member committee in coordination with the PECC International Secretariat, while the final agenda and event schedule are decided by the Standing and Executive Committees.
Significance of the Forum
The General Meeting functions as a vital incubator of ideas, designed to discuss strategic priorities, address key regional issues, and turn policy dialogue into collaborative action. By convening diverse member perspectives to explore critical economic developments, and approaches for future collaboration initiatives, the forum enhances multi-stakeholder dialogue and supports PECC’s ongoing contributions to Asia-Pacific cooperation.
Additionally, the General Meeting offers an opportunity for PECC’s tripartite networks—comprising government, business, and academic representatives—to engage with representatives from various institutions including APEC. Whether participating as keynote speakers, panelists, or active attendees, such exchanges foster synergy, mutual understanding and dialogue on issues of global and regional importance. These interactions reflect PECC’s broader and ongoing engagement with APEC and other regional stakeholders.
